If you're a longtime reader of Turbo then you probably remember my old column, Tech Scene. I suck at writing titles so someone else made that up for me, but I never really liked the name of it.
My deep involvement with Turbo ended with a race car crash at Willow Springs two years ago. I ended up getting hurt really bad but, luckily, my injuries although severe weren't permanent. It took a long time for me to get back to normal but I'm back at 100 percent and unimpaired for the most part.
If you don't remember me perhaps a short introduction is in order. I'm a stereotypical nerd-a pudgy Asian guy with allergies and glasses. I suck at sports and, as a kid, was always picked last for games at recess. I'm an engineer by profession. Most people usually dismiss engineers as uninteresting people. I'm an engineer in the field, however, that some people find interesting, automotive performance. Now are you interested in what I do?
The technical side of cars is my life. I started my motorsports engineering career over 20 years ago fresh out of college at Toyota Racing Development and then moved to Nissan North America, where I was one of the people who brought Nismo to North America. Currently, I do general motorsports consulting for several OEM customers. I also road race with the National Auto Sports Association and am an active driving instructor with them.
In my tenure here I hope to be able to teach you readers how to do things and how things work. I want to teach you how to pick the right parts or even design them. I want to show you how to be an expert or how to pick a truly knowledgeable expert to help you. Let us know what tech subjects you might be interested in and we'll do our best to accommodate your interests.
