Lisa Kubo made her 2002 debut in her old hatchback. The Civic didn't cooperate during qualifying, suffering from a broken lower control arm and after repairs, limped in the field with a 10.269. Kubo was in the closest race of the event. It came in the first round when she was paired against Rafael "Racer X" Estevez and the twin-turbo DRT Civic.
