Marty Ladwig had too many 8s locked and loaded for his Turbo Magazine Hot Rod rivals. The Bothwell/GM Racing Pontiac Sunfire posted 8.69, 8.75 and 8.70 on its way to victory lane.

Abel Ibarra and his K&N Filters Mazda RX-7 won the tortoise race to the staging beams in a very unusual final round victory over Matt Hartford and the Summit Racing Cavalier.

Nelson Hoyos and the Bothwell/GM Racing Cavalier grabbed another victory and a bigger lead in the Pro FWD points battle.

Cesar Febus won from the pole in Modified. In eliminations, the stout 300ZX was the only car to bust into the 7s, running a 7.88 in the semis and a 7.95 in the finals.

Ken Scheepers won a close one in Honda Tuning All Motor and extended his commanding lead in the points.

Team Bergenholtz was on the prowl with its Pro FWD Mazda6. The team made it to the semis, but lost to eventual winner Nelson Hoyos.

Vinny Ten just missed the 7-second club, running an 8.008 in a losing effort to eventual Modified winner Cesar Febus.

Christian Rado has a better handle on his transmission woes. He was able to lay down an 8.65 to take the top spot in Pro FWD and advance to the finals. Unfortunately, a missed shift cost him any chance of victory.

The biggest thrill ride of the elongated weekend was had by Manny Cruz, who crashed in the first round of eliminations on Sunday. Manny was fine. In fact, he was on the phone with the chassis shop when we stopped by his pit.

Honda Civic Hatchback Left Side View
Lance Ho Lung and the HP Racing Civic were involved in most of the closest races in Turbo Magazine Hot Rod. They got to the final, but ran out of 8s against Marty Ladwig.
