1971 Toyota Corolla
Michael and partner, Rob Hussey, have a lot to be proud of with this '71 Corolla "Daily Driven Demon." Michael and Rob have modified this car together, swapping out the stock 1600cc motor in exchange for a 2000cc bored out .060 over. The Daily Driven Demon runs a ported 2TC head with match-ported Cannon manifold with funny fog delivered by a NOS system jetted to 150 hp. The powerplant also sports a Norris 368's camshaft, a set of Norris lifters and pushrods and an HKS Series One geardrive. Ignition duties are handled by an MSD 6AL with MSD coil. Gear selection is handled by a stock tranny outfitted with a Centerforce 2 clutch. The gearbox spins a 10-bolt posi differential with .430 gears. Rolling stock consists of Weld Racing aluminum and Nitto performance rubber. All of these mods combine to allow low 12-second runs down the 1320. Michael and Rob also have a turbocharged Toyota coupe waiting in the wings, tentatively dubbed "Praise Jesus #2."
