Yep, this one borders on sacrilegious. You have to question everything when a legendary RB26DETT is swapped OUT. That's what Top Secret of Japan did. The swap subject is an R34 Skyline GT-R, and the go-to engine is a Nissan VQ34 V6, basically a 350Z powerplant.
Top Secret did an outstanding job dropping the hammer on the V6. Using a pair of Top Secret N1 turbos, a slant-style custom intercooler and a good deal of fabrication talent, the VQ was put in the pressure cooker. The turbo system is tuned via an HKS F-CON V Pro working in unison with a Blitz SBC boost controller. A 100mm TS Titan titanium exhaust system rounds out the power-making mods.
The power is put to the ground with the help of an OPC twin-plate clutch and Cusco LSD. Footwork consists of TS Super Damper coil-overs working with 19-inch Ray's Engineering hot-forged lightweight TE37 wheels and Bridgestone rubber.
The R34 flexes some intense bodylines, thanks to a full array of Top Secret G-Force body parts. High-tech carbon fiber is the material of choice for the G-Force front bumper cover hood, rear valance and side mirrors. The car also sports a composite truck, side skirts and front and rear undertray air diffusers. Trick? Yes. Trend? No.
