In other words most of the parts above the valve cover had to be removed before the Comptech centrifugal charger could be installed. While it ran with a pulley producing six psi for quite some time, Mike recently acquired the Stage II setup to go along with his Acura's menacing new look. The Stage II kit includes a high boost pulley producing nine psi, 400cc injectors and a voltage amplifier for fuel pump.
The latter eradicates the need for a larger fuel pump by increasing the voltage from 12 to 24 volts. With more juice to the juice, a Science of Speed induction system and a custom four-inch exhaust the NSX is pushing 400 whp. Before the Stage II upgrade, Mike took the car up the track to the tune of 12.1 seconds. By now there's no reason the Acura shouldn't be hitting low 11's with all that weight over the rear wheels. Assuming they're not 20's that is.
As fully sorted as this NSX is, Mike admits that the suspension needs some tuning. While the car was a full-on driver before, it has now become a little bit of a show queen with the adjustable Koni's tweaked all the way south and the supercharger looking like an MP's helmet. "I started to get into the show thing more and more but now I want to set the alignment and turn it back into a driver," said Mike.
Inside the Sport Max rims is a set of Wilwood forged billet four-piston brakes from Brake Zone. These bad boys bring the car to a halt very abruptly.
Will Mike Chu bring the NSX back to its tarmac-terrorizing origins, or will it become one of the most insane show cars to ever make the rounds. Can it run 11s on 20s? Time will answer all these most perplexing questions.
