Mobil Reformulates
Mobil 1 is updating its formula and simplifying its packaging. As fans of all things high tech, we thought we'd pass along what the company has going on.
According to an in-depth ExxonMobil press release, Mobil 1 uses a combination of high-performance synthetic fluids, including polyalphaolefins (PAO) and carefully selected proprietary additive packages, plus the latest innovation in lubricant technology-the proprietary SuperSyn anti-wear system. This combination of high-performance components has created motor oil that delivers an extremely powerful extra line of defense against engine wear.
"Instead of breaking down during extreme high-stress, high-temperature conditions, SuperSyn actually excels under these conditions," says Tom Olszewski, group technical leader at ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Co.
