The July 1995 issue came during an era when we A) had girls on the cover and B) did more Mustang stuff. Inside we had a crazy mix of wild rides. A $145,000 Guldstrand GS90 Vette, Toyomoto's 600-plus horsepower JZA70 Supra, the Ford GT90, the GT40 resto project that did not make it to production and project cars Science Project Twin-Turbo Mustang and the SE-Rious Sentra.
Also of interest were Tadashi Kaida's turbocharged Civic hatch, a wicked twin-turbo small-block powered Studebaker, an RS Akimoto-tuned FD RX-7 and another twin-turbo small block, this time in a 1975 Jaguar XK6C. The 7.97-second ANS Performance Buick GN was featured as well as a Vinny Ten tuned Supra and a powerfull DSM. We also became the first U.S. magazine to cover the Tokyo Auto Salon.

Kenny Tran's 9.681 at 144.99 mph Jotech drag Civic was on the cover of the July 2000 issue Kenny held the record by .006 over Ed Bergenholtz and we got lucky as Kenny lost the record three days after this issue went off sale. Here is how that article ended:
The Crystal Ball
For the 2000 season (see chart below) we expect Kenny to run like his tail is on fire. With Team Bergenholtz, Lisa Kubo Racing holding the torch and a total of 8 cars in the 9s fanning the flames keeping the World's Quickest Uni-Body title will be hard service indeed. Rest assured Kenny will be ready to battle and, after all, it is easier to defend a position that overlooks your enemies.

Turbo Magazine Tomorrow
The August issue 2005 will feature a wicked turbocharged Acura NSX. Used examples of this Japanese Ferrari are coming down in price and the mid-engine, rear-drive supercar is still a performance icon. We will be checking out the Performance Autoworx turbo system and all the juicy details of this finely crafted Acura.
Also on call is a tech piece illustrating the virtues of alcohol injection. Follow along as we cheat the laws of physics or at least the detonation threshold by using an old trick on a new dog. The test subject is the mighty Mitsubishi Evolution but this strategy can be used on any highly boost, pump gas-powered turbo car.
