Web Cam's initial stage of K20A camshafts, the AS1's, produce more horsepower and torque in comparison to the OEM Type R cams, all the way until we lift off at 9200 rpm. At .050-inches of valve lift, Web Cam's billet cams have 40 degrees of additional duration on the intake side and 37 degrees on the exhaust. Compare this to the even less aggressive RSX Type S cams and you'll see a world of difference.

Honda Civic Motor Mounts
Want a K20A Type R in your Civic? You'll need one of these. Actually you'll need a whole set of these engine mounts like Hasport makes.

Many behind the scenes things make the K series arguably one of Honda's best yet. We think switching to a chain-driven timing system and ditching the belt is among one of their smartest changes

Honda Civic Hydraulic Tensioner
Installing K series camshafts can be tricky, so get a service manual before starting. You'll need to know how to reinstall the hydraulic tensioner for the timing chain. Don't mess this up.

Honda Civic Bolts
The service manual won't tell you this: Leave the bolts in the end of the camshaft holder when removing the assembly. Or don't, and let the VTEC pins fall all over the place.

Honda Civic Valve Train
Stiffer Supertech dual valve springs and titanium retainers were installed before putting the Web cams in. We're concerned about valve float here, especially since this engine sees in excess of 9000 rpm.

Honda Civic Intake Manifold
Our test K20A was already well outfitted with a number of bolt-ons including a Civic Si intake manifold (interestingly enough these produce more power than the Type R's), an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, and a custom cold air intake and four-into-one header.

Honda Civic Dyno
One key thing to remember when dyno tuning is to keep as much area below the torque curve as possible. A flat torque curve free of any major dips or spikes is ideal. Compare the torque curves within the 5000 to 6000rpm range and you'll see what we mean. We were impressed. Oh, and did we mention that these are only Web's stage one cams. Stage twos are currently in development, but probably won't be recommended for a daily driven K20A such as this one.
