Alamo Autosports Ford Focus
Turbo pressurization has become a realization for Ford Focus pilots, thanks to Alamo Autosports. Part of Alamo's FocusParts line of products for the Blue Oval's import challenger, this turbo kit employs a Garrett T3 turbo with Alamo-spec compressor and turbine wheels. On the fuel side there are two paths to choose from. The base kit relies on a Haltech AIC, which commands a single 550cc secondary injector, along with upgrades to the stock ECU. For those that want extra credit (read more power), a Haltech E6K stand-alone engine management system can be used. The Focus has a single-line fuel system similar to the set up on the Celica. During torture testing, which consisted of extended WOT operation at 9 psi, Alamo found that the rods were a potential weak link as all four broke at once. Alamo used this mishap to develop its line of FocusParts rods and pistons. With the internals we can see serious power mongers pumping up the boost well past the 7 psi of the base kit.
