Intake For The '02-'-06 MINI Cooper S
Advanced Flow Engineering (AFE), an industry leader in performance intakes, filters, manifolds, and exhaust systems, released its Stage 2 air intake system for the '02 to '06 Mini Cooper S with a supercharged 1.6L four-cylinder motor, PN 54-10572 and 51-10572.
AFE Stage 2 air intake systems utilize specially designed polished intake tubes that maximize air velocity and improve horsepower, torque, and throttle response. The durable, one-piece, 18-gauge powdercoated heat shield blocks out engine heat and uses factory-mounting locations. This kit also comes with a brushed aluminum cover to keep out engine heat and provide an aggressive style. The first model (54-10572) includes the patented Pro-5R filter that utilizes five layers of progressive cotton media, producing excellent filtration and maximum flow while the other model (51-10572) includes the brand-new Pro-Dry S filter, which uses a synthetic media and requires no oil to recharge for maximum convenience.
In recent testing, part 54-10572 produced 5 hp and 6 lb-ft of torque and had 49 percent more airflow than the factory intake.

22/RE Turbo Kit
Using the Steedspeed CNC-machined manifold as a foundation, LC Engineering's budget turbo kit for the 22R/RE motor includes a custom-spec T3/T4 ball bearing turbocharger, TiAL wastegate, stainless steel down pipe, and all supporting hardware, like oil feed and drain hoses, fittings, silicone connectors, and piping to the throttle body. The manifold is coated with a 1,200-degree graphite gray ceramic coating, and the down pipe and wastegate blow-down tube are both coated with 1,200-degree shiny silver ceramic. This kit is best suited for use with out LC Engineering pro fuel injection kits and aftermarket injectors. These kits are available in either high- or low-boost applications.
