Inspect the inside of each synchro ring for wear. Also, inspect the synchro teeth colored gold in this image for uncharacteristic wear. The teeth should be sharp and pointed. If they look rounded or worn for any reason it's a good chance that your car has a tendency to grind or not engage smoothly when shifting through the gears.
