HKS RB26DETT - Top Shop Challenge

HKS uses a special forged piston material with a nickel-plated crown to increase longevity against detonation. The skirts of the piston use an oval coating to promote low-friction resistance.

Castrol Synthetic 20W-50 oil was requested by the SP Engineering build team to flow though the engine to eclipse the 1,000hp marker.

An HKS fuel rail and 1,000cc low-impedance injectors replace the factory units.

The factory RB26 water ports on the block showcasing defects that impede the flow of water and effectiveness of the cooling system.

Using a die grinder, Hiro carefully clears the rough castings.

This shows how close the jackets come in contact with the head studs and head gasket. Someone who is overzealous with the grinder can cause some serious damage if they decide to port the jackets rather than deburr them.
